Abstract

Background: Applications such as vSim¢ç for Nursing are required for non-face-to-face teaching methods with nursing students in relation to clinical practice of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. This study was conducted to assess a vSim¢ç program in clinical practice and confirm participant satisfaction with its use.
Methods: During their clinical practice rotation, third- and fourth-grade students undertook 10 and 30 h simulation-based learning, respectively. At the end of the semester, a satisfaction survey on its use was then conducted.
Results: The results suggest that the use of vSim¢ç can be used with nursing students in clinical practice. Satisfaction with the program was positive among those fourth-grade students who had a little more hands-on experience and prior knowledge of simulation-based learning. Overall, satisfaction levels were moderate with using vSim¢ç but low with the content and duration.
Conclusion: To supplement the improvements identified in this study, simulation-based learning programs comprising more diverse scenarios should be developed as an alternative to clinical practice for nursing students.
